Rice Box
Kiribako are boxes made of paulownia wood. Paulownia has humidity-controlling and insect-repelling properties that keep rice fresh and protect its flavor. This box is also suitable for storing brown rice, wheat, beans, millet, cereals, and other grains.
The square scoop is magnetic, and attaches to the underside of the lid for convenient storage.
Founded in 1929 in Fukuoka, Japan, Masuda Kiribako Co. is known for their hand-crafted containers and gift boxes made from kiri (paulownia) wood. Made without the use of nails and screws, the traditional technique of crafting these wood boxes dates back to the Heian Era of Japan.
